MAILING TIPS AND DISCLAIMER
Thank you for considering Twisted Limb’s original and specialty design--the self-mailing fold-up. You should feel confident
about sending your fold-up invitations or thank you notes in the mail to U.S. destinations without an envelope. Over 50,000
of these handmade paper self-mailers have successfully been through the U.S. Mail, arriving in beautiful condition to delight
their recipients. Keep in mind that self-mailing tri-fold newlsetters and brochures are sent through the mail every day, and
that your Twisted Limb fold-up actually exceeds postal service regulations by having a glue strip the entire length of the
mailing. Here are a few tips to ensure your fold-ups arrive at their destinations in excellent shape:
*After moistening the glue strip and closing the fold-up, apply some pressure at several points along the strip for a few
moments to make sure that the seal between the glue and the handmade textured paper is nice and strong.
*Avoid using labels for the guest addresses, and instead, write your addresses directly on the outside of the fold-up. A fine
point permanent marker like a Sharpie is an ideal writing implement. If you have chosen to have the flowers on the outside of
the invitation or note, you may have to write around flowers or ferns, or gently scrape them off and out of the way. Writing
parts of names on flowers or ferns is usually not a problem, but just to be safe, make sure to write street addresses and
zip codes directly on the paper and not on a flower or fern that may flake off in the mail.
*If you can’t bring yourself to write all of the return addresses on the back flaps of the invites, clear labels are nice
because you can see through them to the handmade paper. Like the glue strip, remember to apply pressure when adhering! Another
alternative is to have a self-inking stamp made with your return address.
*Do not put the postage stamp directly over a flower or fern, unless it appears deeply embedded in the paper. Again, remember
to apply some pressure on the stamp to make sure it completely adheres to the paper.
*You will want to purchase envelopes for invitations being sent to international destinations.
*Please keep in mind that any invitation or piece of mail has the miniscule chance of being lost or damaged. Take care in
addressing and stamping your fold-ups, and send your beautiful self-mailing and eco-friendly invitations in good faith.
