Sheryl Woodhouse-Keese, founder/president, a native of Chicago, studied music and sociology in New Orleans before spending 6 years as a naturalist and historical interpreter in Wyoming, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Arkansas. On the suggestion of a friend, she began making paper in Montana to complement her calligraphy and avid letter writing. As an environmentalist, she welcomed a way to do her part in reducing the endless stream of waste pouring into our landfills. (All of Twisted Limb's paper is 100% recycled.)
Sheryl began Twisted Limb Paperworks in 1998 after moving to Bloomington, Indiana, ending a 21 year sabbatical from the paper business. She began her career at age 9, selling handmade stationery surprise packages to her sisters for 5 cents each. Though her prices have had to change over the years, Sheryl's love of paper has not.
Winter finds Sheryl playing classical piano and practicing yoga. Her summers are spent maintaining a garden and hiking trails and planning a fall vacation. She and her husband, Brian, enjoy dancing and various outdoor pursuits together.
Sheryl manages the business, designs product, and calligraphies the invitation envelopes.

Rowenna Hamper, office manager, graduated from Indiana University in May 2007 with a degree in History and French and is pleasantly surprised to find herself in such a creative work environment. When she isn't at Twisted Limb, she enjoys sewing, watching old movies, perfecting her cheesecake recipe, and participating in Revolutionary War reenactments with her husband Randy. Rowenna became famous at Twisted Limb for climbing into the chest freezer when she used to work back in the paper making studio. She has settled down (somewhat) and now is the lovely voice at the other end of your telephone. She assists our customers with their decisions, processes and ships orders, pays the bills, and does a little bit of everything else.
Dana Teel, designer, graduated from Indiana University in 2005 with a BFA in metalsmithing and jewelry design and a BA in Art History. Dana loves to travel, hike, and spend time with her pets Isabelle and Gingerbread. She also enjoys photography and playing pool. Dana very artfully transforms text into beautiful invitations, and enjoys working closely with our customers to make sure their designs are just right!
Allison Day, studio manager, is so excited to have joined the Twisted Limb team! After graduating in May 2007, Allison hoped to apply her degree in textile construction and art history in a creative work environment. She decided to stay in Indiana for a while longer to be near her friends and family. When not making paper, Allison enjoys making art for her home, reading, traveling, decorating, and finding new restaurants around town. Her cocker spaniel mix, Levi, takes a lot of her free time with his constant silliness. Allison creatively and efficiently manages the studio, and participates in all stages of paper and invitation production. Allison and her assistants, Lyndsey and Erin, are quite a team, and have a lot of fun together while making your orders.
Lyndsey Gibson, studio assistant, is an IU graduate with a degree in Studio Art and a minor in art history who loves collecting antiques and vintage pieces. Lyndsey is a fan of old films and actresses such as Marilyn Monroe, Audry Heburn and Clara Bow. She loves the style and design of the art deco and art nouveau periods, and is known at Twisted Limb for her funny voices. In her free time, Lyndsey likes working on her art projects and scrapbooking. Lyndsey works with Allison and Erin to create your paper and invitations.
Erin Griffin, studio assistant, graduated from IU in May 2008 with a BFA in textiles and a BA in Chinese and Religious Studies. She is happy to have a place at Twisted Limb while she takes some time away from school. Erin is a singer-songwriter and plays banjo and violin in her folk duo, The Decadents. In the evenings, she is usually playing music, working on her cooking skills, or enjoying the outdoors. Erin works with Allison and Lyndsey to create your paper and invitations.
Brian Keese, operations manager and webmaster, has been with Twisted Limb from the start, his rustic furniture even inspiring the name for the business. He made Sheryl's very first mold and deckle, and since, has built and repaired almost every piece of equipment in the business, including its water recycling system and with his father-in-law, the studio building itself! Brian keeps everything in the office and studio in top working order and also maintains the Twisted Limb website. His other life involves software development, altering his cars to run on used vegetable oil, two great cats named Spaz and Desi, one supremely sweet dog named Renni, and endless home improvement projects on their log cabin.
